“I Continue On…” (4-20-2011)

“I Continue On…” (4-20-2011)

Here, right here, in this place I am sitting, both reflective and optimistic about this life of mine — where I’ve been, where I’m headed, and where I am going.   This little town I now call home has a heartwarming quality about it.

It’s quiet, slow-paced, and there are parks everywhere.   This country landscape and all it’s country-like allure and beauty has enhanced a peace within that I have been nuturing over the past three years.  Gone is the loud thumping music at 3:00am in the morning that I had to get used to in order to keep the peace.
Futher at bay are the dark shadows of the past that lurked right outside of my front door constantly.   By the Grace of God, as well as a true understanding of my own self-worth, the efforts to lure me backwards in time were foiled.   That place where I resided, the place where I discovered who I was, finally, has now become part of the memories that I have moved beyond, but will never forget.

Even though I am not exactly where I want to be, I am closer than I have ever been to being there, and that sits quite well with me.  This battle for mental freedom has been long and frightening at times.   There were moments when I tried giving up, but then “faith” kicked in and refused to allow that travesty to happen.
It’s funny to me that, once I learned how to “Let Go and Let God”, that’s when others around me seemed to loose their power over my emotions.  I’ve learned that saying less and listening yields a power that I never even knew I possessed.

Misery loves company, and when I removed myself from the ring-side seating, that’s when I became somone I always wanted to be.   I know that life’s battles are far from over, but I can honestly say that, because I have sound, quality players in my life now, I’ll be fine.

I learned how to smell B. S. a mile away, and with a renewed vigor I continue on….

(Stay strong, be empowered, and know your own self-worth)

Spiritual Climate Change (4-12-11)

This spiritual climate change feels as warm as an early summer's morn, equipped with the bird's song and the chilly bite of the sudden breeze that quietly races around me. Out here beneath God's blue sky, filled with hope and faith, looking towards a future composed of a richer literary experience.... slowly, I am becoming one with self.... and that's sits quite well with me, finally...

FAITH (4-11-2011)

Mental freedom…   As I drove further away from what I had known for the past several years, I felt a heavy weight being lifted from my spirit.  It seems as if this transitional period has taken another huge leap towards that plateau of success I have been striving so hard to achieve. I used my most reliable weapon…  FAITH

The Ultimate Design (4-8-2011)

Motivated by the powerful spirits of ambition, faith, love, and creativity.  Boundless are the limits of perseverance, and the struggles associated with living life strengthen our will and enhance the energy of our motivation.  Never let anyone steer you away from the paths of positivity and prosperity.... for once it is said and done, the ultimate design of your legacy will have been designed by you.

Candid Observation (4-7-2011)

Tonight I observed, first hand,  how hard it is for someone to tell you that they'll miss you, and how much they valued your friendship over the course of  time that you spent with them.  I suppose I have learned over the years that many people have gone through so much pain and hurt that they find it difficult to express themselves with tender words, because they fear that whatever has transpired in the past will occur again, so rather than embracing and displaying any type of sensitivity towards the friendship, they hide behind hateful words, harsh criticisms, and piercing judgments, focusing on the mistakes you've made as opposed to rejoicing on what you have managed to achieve in spite them.
Much of the darkness I've experienced in life manifested itself in a lack of self-worth, and it seemed I was always searching for love from the mouths and hearts of others, until I discovered an inner-strength and sound ambition hidden in me -- one that was hidden behind everything I encountered as a result of being a creative creature.  Little did I know that my power rested in the core of literary expression and blog talk radio.  I've amassed quite a following on this blog I created over a year ago, and it has surpassed 10,000 visitors.  That means that 10,000 people believe that I have something to say, and that it is a place worth stopping by to visit.  The radio show, "A Touch of Grace" has had over 7,000 visitors, and numerous guest -- and the future guest list is growing with each passing day.
In the heart of this transition I see people I've known for years, family and friends, who choose to remain in the comforts of what they call existence, who never stepped out on faith to discover their passion and follow their dreams, so it is understandable why these individuals cannot fathom how I walked away from a 26 year corporate job and have struggled ever since.  They aren't evolved enough to see all that I have accomplished since I made the move -- the only thing that they can see is how hard I have been struggling, and what I left behind.
Well, I now know that it is not my responsibility to help them see what I have accomplished as a result of stepping out on faith.  It is also not my intention to move them past what they see, the only thing that I can do is focus on what it is I am trying to build and carve out for myself based on my talent and creativity.  A dear friend of mine affirmed everything for me last night, when she said that following your own road in this life might never sit well with some, but that I need to always remember that it is my road, not theirs.
So, as some sit back and reflect on the decisions I've made in order to be able to do what is in my heart, I've decided to maintain momentum and focus as I continue to get closer to a successful creative profession -- one that will satisfy the hunger inside of me, and in the wake of all that I do, I am creating a literary legacy that will outlive me.
One of my favorite quotes is, "It's not the breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away..."
Live for you, and prosper...

“New Skies…” (4-6-2011)

Made a major decision that will put me right where I need to be. It's been a long time coming, and I know, in my heart that, once it's done, blessings will unfold.  Anyone out there following your dream know this; through the toughest of times understand that, no one can take away your talent nor your ambition unless you allow them to.  Behind me are lessons learned, in front of me are new skies to explore....

(Dedicated to my sister, who has shown me more than once recently, that she is with me, always)

I’ll cherish each day… (4-4-2011)

Sometimes I want to stop time in its place, fearful of each day's outcome, knowing that each one brings changes -- some good, some bad, and some I dare not mention.   I have currently taken time to cherish each and every person in my life, taking in their life essence -- their voice, their laughter, their smile, their warmth.   I cling on to each and every precious moment, and I have learned to practice forgiveness and discovered how to step outside of myself and forgo the twins ego and pride ---
You see, nothing else matters once that final transition takes place, and even though I know that no matter how much we hold onto those moments, once that day comes, all we'll have are those memories to console us.
I wrote this in dedication to my mother and father, brother and sister, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and all of the other beautiful people I have been fortunate enough to meet along this journey.
I have been told through the years that I am too sensitive.  Well, you know something, it's that characteristic that allows me to flourish in literary expression ... it is that gift that defines who I am, and I figure, God knew what he was doing when he made it part of me.
I'll cherish each day...

(Dedicated to my beautiful mother, who stayed with us.... and is still with us).

Our Lives (4-4-2011)

Life's challenges, big and small, tough and joyful, help define our character and as we continue walking on along this journey we learn even more about ourselves, our abilities, our strengths & weaknesses...  and if we've paid attention, we eventually realize all that really matters...  the power of love, and the blessings of friends, family, and other beautiful spirits we meet in our lives....
